Question Quarter mile estimate?

Hey guys i just wanted to ask what you guys think my estimated 1/4 mile times would be with everything in my sig.

I'm planning on going to the track in a week or so, somewhat nervous. By the way, i'm planning on running with slicks. Any feedback would be appreciated.

12.5-12.8 with good air and traction. Make sure you have a driveshaft loop and traction bars if you're planning on using slicks. You don't want to pole vault across the 60' mark. Also if the track is NHRA sanctioned, they won't let you run slicks w/o a loop.

13.00 with radials.

12.9 - 12.6 depending on traction and how aggressive your tune is.

If you are running 14-15 degrees of timing, dont expect anything better then a 13.2.

Do you guys think that clamping the leaf springs would work as temporary traction bars?

By the way, i will be getting the truck dyno tuned before i go to the track. I have an autologic chip and the place that i'm getting it dynoed at will be able to tune the chip. Will the dyno tune make a difference?

Would it be safe to run slicks with clamped leaf springs temporarily?

I heard that if the leafs are clamped correctly, it can eliminate axle wrap which is what causes our driveshafts to break.

Believe or not, clamping the leafs work. Ask USAHOOTERS about it. If youre going to run slicks with the clamped leafs, just pay attention to whats happening in the water box. If you start to experience any sort of hopping, get off the throttle and abort the warmup. This is where the shaft is most likely to snap ( hopping ).

Dyno tuning always makes a difference, esp on our crappy fuel. Try to get a race side as well. Generally, 14-15 degrees of timing is what you will be running for a safe street tune. A/F ratio will likely be in the low to mid 11's. Mine is set at 10.8 but thats because my truck prefers to run fat. This should put you in the 400/500 club with your mods. When the race side is tuned, you should see the timing steadily climbing from 16 degrees up to 22 by 5200 rpm. Theres about 4 parameters that need to be turned off on the race side to disable all timing retards programmed in the computer. Make sure you run no less then 100 octane on that race side and throw in 5 gallons of it either just before the fuel light turns on or just before. Thats how i run it at the track with no pinging.

Goodluck bro. BTW. Email me if you want my program. We have the same mods.

On stock F1's:
With clamped springs I can cut 1.9 60' without a problem.

I removed the front sway-bar (another usahooters tip) and installed some lakewoods (had wheel hop) and cut a 1.8 this past Friday. I launch from a dead idle.

I'm w\dealerjim 12.5 - 12.8

Good luck
Rich

After looking at your mods in your sig.... I'd say mid to low 12 on slicks with good traction and good weather... if the weather is hot, I'd be happy with a 12.7-12.9 or so.... good luck man, Shane
