building modulars...
with all the talk about people installing their cams a few teeth off and either resulting in bad engine damage or low power numbers, its starting to make me paranoid. i plan on building my own motor just for the experience of building a modular motor. i would like to have input on this from people who have built their own motor and even the tuners. ive built chevys galor, but havent yet tackled a mod motor. where are all the clearences supposed to be at ? how do i file the piston rings? and how do i know "exactly" where the cams line up. im used to double roller timing chains with those "dots" to line them up.
thanks for your input

I think I'm getting pretty good at it since I had mine out twice now. I am luckey cuz I can go to the other side of my plant and talk to the engine techs here at Ford.
I have a name for a guy that I bought a total repair bay manual for my truck and pic. to go with it he charged me 20 bucks.
I'll send you his name tomorrow. If you haven't heard from me by tomorrow shoot me an e-mail and remind me.
