I got one sitting at my house but I'm in Japan right now so I can't really tell you how it works yet.

I don't have the supercooler but I do have the smaller powercooler and it's good for roughly 2 tenths in the 1/4. I always have a few chips of ice left when I get back from a run so its big enough.IMO

I was going to build my own, but my container was a little small and I could not bend the tubing tight enough.

Do you guys think I could use regular clear hose, and be pretty close to as effiecient as the copper?

Clear hose will never cool as good as metal.

Also, dont try copper. You dont want to mix copper and alumn together.

Get some alumn tube and wind it up.

I thought that they JL supercooler/powercooler used copper? Will aluminum bend easier/tighter than copper? I am trying to make it do a 180 in about 12 inches.

I have a home made one that has copper tubing in it no problems so far. Works great!
I drop a little over a tenth just by using it.
