I don't understand ?

The ENTIRE 2004 F-150 Line up gets
the New Body
the New Interior
Side Air Bags
Console
Floor Shifter
bla bla bla

EXCEPT no change on the Lightning + HD ?
WTF is that about ???

Ok so maybe the new 500/500 motor isn't ready
but why not at least give us the Body + Interior
LIKE THE REST OF THE LINE UP

Rob, you gotta relax man. All will be fine. Ford is continuing the old style F150 for 04 and it will be called the Heritage Series. This will allow them the opportunity to transition to the new body style while style capturing sales of the old body style for those that would prefer it. This also allows them to continue production of the Lightning for the 04 year. If they would have completely revamped the tooling and only gone with the new style, then a new Lightning wouldn't have come out until 05.

As for the HD, it is totally new for 04 and will based off the F250 and F350 chassis and will be a 4x4.

Meaning what
They will have both old and new style available to buy in 04 ???
I've never seen that before, HAVE WE ?
What made me go to the computer and check the specs just now
was while I'm watching the Nascar Truck Race there has been
commercial after commercial showing 04 F-150 NEW STYLE body and interior with the consoles, shifter, side air bags, etc....

DID ANY ONE NOTICE THE NEW STYLE PLUGS FORD'S USING
ON THE NEW 3 VALVE 5.4 ???
Click the link
When the movie starts, hit the Power Button up top
After he talks a little more,
you'll see a bunch of circles pop up on the grill
CLICK THEM
New 5.4 Block
Heads (3 Valve design)
Variable Cam timing
NEW CRAZY LOOKING PLUGS
ETC....

Cool

HI!... The REAL reason the LIGHTNING's for "04" are still the old body style is because they are only built at the OAKVILLE plant here in CANADA. The OAKVILLE plant is closing soon and it would of cost too much to convert the plant over to the new body style just for one year before the plant closes. This is what the plant manager told us last year at the OAKVILLE RALLY where we toured the plant. The regular F-150's will also be built there for limited production in the old body style. They will be called the HERITAGE EDITION. This WILL ONLY be for "04". The other planys in the U.S will be building regular F-150's in the new body style for "04". Hope this clears things up a bit.

Thanks Neil, that makes sense

That new 5.4 sounds impressive, nice HP and Torque
for the new style F-150's, (300HP / 365 Torque).
Put a S/C on that bad boy and you actually got
some serious HP + Torque

BTW Neil
Have they ever done something like this before ???
Offered both the old and new style in the same yr

While the new L will hopefully have more power, according to Ford the 04's will also be about 500 pounds heavier. This means that our current L will have a huge weight advantage over the new L. With the twin screw blowers available power is not an issue. Just some food for thought.

Rob...they "sort of" have done this before. Remember when they came out with our body style f150? They kept the 96 style around for a year 97 until they could launch the soop-r doody.
