Angry Ford Dealership

Well i made a appointment for my 2002 L (which i have only had for one week) b/c it stumbles on accel. They wanted me to drop it off yesterday first thing at 8am so they could get to work on it. I was surprised, sounded real good, untill i got a call at 1030 saying they will not get to work on it at all b/c they are to busy? Then why the heck did i need to bring it in at 8am. So i called this morning to make sure that they will get to work on it today. They said they might get to it by around 2 pm? I was like what the he!!, the service department closes at 5 they are not gonna finish it by then if they work this slow. So i told them about my physcial theropy, (i blew out my ACL,PCL in my knee working at the firehouse) and was told they will send me a rental and they pay the cost. Which is nice of them, but seeing the truck is still under warrenty they should. My luck im gonna get some corrolla or something, they just dont understand, after driving your L you dont want to drive something else. That and when I bought it I orderd the JLP intake, bassani exhaust, boost bypass kit,4#lower,transmittion valve, and boost gauge and pod sitting here waiting to go in. Ok sorry for the long story just had to release some frustration.

as far as the rental goes, as an SVT customer I think they have to give you a loaner.

No doubt, you are entitled to that loaner, but you need to REMIND the dealer, 'cause they sure as heck won't go out of their way to OFFER it...

Ford dealers are jerks in general especially when it comes to loaner cars for 2001 and newer Lightnings. I have never had a good experience purchasing or having warranty work performed at a Ford dealer. My only experience at the Chevy dealer for warranty work wasn't any better. I wish Toyota made a big SUV. I'd be all over it.

They do, it's called the Sequoia, and it has V8 power.

Agreed! Dealer tried to sell me Mercon V for my '01 the other day! Scary.......

Sorry to hear of your problems but how did you check if your coil back was burnt out? I may have that same problem, what does it cause the truck to do?

Thanks

Well, after the Suburban POS broke down the last time my wife wanted the Excursion. We have a 2002 excursion 4x4 limited that the wife really likes. If Toyota made an SUV the same same size as the excursion we would purchase one.

problems with excursion to date 16000 miles,

DVD doesn't work half the time we try to use it. I have to pull down the console and unplug it. When I plug it back in it works fine...
Driver seat position 1 memory doesn't work and hasn't worked since new.
The brakes are shot already. I guess it is time for new aftermarket rotors and pads...
Pings unless I use 93 octane...
vibrates bad at anything over 85 mph
all door handles rub paint
reverse objects sensors go off 50% of the time and there is nothing back there
easily stuck in mud

this is a long story, but ill try to make it short...goes along the lines of the first post up there by #1buster...
i bought my new l on my b-day ths year, i took it home, changed clothes, went to go on a drive and it wouldnt start...the alternator was shotty and not charging the battery. so i jumped it off, took it back, the worked on it for 3 hours trying to charge the battery and finally realized what i told them "sir, were gonna have to change your alternator". so they gave me a 1998 mustang rs!!! when i finally got it back, it had a 3 foot scrape across the top from the magnetic hat, and the tensioner was loose and rattling, so now im taking it back tomorrow for paint and to get that tightened up...im stoked, maybe ill get an aspire this time!! sorry that was so long...

I went to the Ford dealer today to get a foglight replaced. I poped it out and brought it in to show the guy, because last time it took over 2hrs to replace it. I said I need this warentied. He tells me we need to setup an appointment to look at the truck. I said are you kidding me, here is the part and you don't even need tools to take this out. I told him the last dealer just ordered the part for me and I just poped it in ( which was BS but I wasn't waiting for over 2hrs again like the last dealer) So I got him to order the part and we will see what happens on Friday.

I had a good experience once at a Ford dealership, honest it's true !!!
I made an appointment for the intercooler recall and dropped the truck off at 10:00 am. They called at 2:00 pm to let me know they were done. No scratches on the truck, no greasy fingerprints on the paint, no greasy footprints on the carpet. It was a really good experience.
They had a nice waiting room also, even though I didn't do any waiting. They had it decorated with performance oriented stuff, including a 460 crate motor with aluminum CJ heads on it sitting on an engine stand.
