Hey guys
I too am looking for all of the above info....thanks to all for the specs.....but I have a quick question about the different hp and torque for the 01 and up. Is the extra 20hp and the extra 10 ft/lbs of torque just from the 90mm MAF and the intercooler....I am trying to see if it would be just as good to get a 99 or 00 and do the extra upgrades when I get the extra cash......Or are the 01 and up far superior......

I have been looking for a 2000+ Jeep GR for almost three months,
set up just like that.
My 1994 runs great (fast on the hwy, not too bad off road) just need a newer model. It's the perfect second vehicle to back up the L. You say it rides like crap but look at it in your pic...it's beautiful, all the comfort and articulation to boot.
Too bad Im in Fl or Id make you an offer.

 

The '01 and up are slightly quicker in the 1/4 mile (about 0.1-0.2s), but the difference in power is almost negligible for a vehicle weighing 2.3 tons.

It's like the difference between an '01 Z06 and an '02 and up. Everyone wants the '02 as it has 405hp, but any expert will tell you that both cars are plenty quick!

I bought my '00 L as I fell in love with the Silver color, and I was unsure about whether I wanted the clear tail ligths on the '01 and later L's. I upgraded my suspension to Bilsteins and put a K&N panel filter to allow somewhat better airflow over stock. If you plan on upgrading your truck, you're better off just buying a truck that fits in your budget. A Lightning is a Lightning!

Whatever year you buy, you still own the fastest truck on earth!!!
