pullies (new to the boards)

i was looking at the different pullies in the online catolog of this page.. and wanted to know what the horsepower gains of the 2,4,6 psi pullies..

yes im new to the boards and yes my GF just bought her brand new 03 lightning delivery is on tuesday..

she wants more power and for 180 bucks to gain that much power is pretty damn cool.. so if anyone can tell me what i can put on and or do to her car for her to get even more power...

thanks kyle

i know how the button works.. im a post ***** on many mustang sites..

but as i figured that i would get myself into the boards with a small question that i know someone could have the friendly time in answering.. but i guess there are going to be the ocasional people who are tired of the so called newbs.. for asking the same question over and over again.. but its also alot easier to ask your own question then try to understand some one else's question..

but if there is anyone else that would like to offer there input on some minor info and dosnt mind taking the time to asnwer instead of posting a picture of the search button it would be much appreciated...

This ain't no Mustang board... lol Really though there are tons of people here that have different comfort levels with mods. Some people go with a 2lb pulley others a 8. So with that in mind I'll tell you what I would do...Get a 6 lb with at least a flip chip with a factory tech trans valve body. Oh and you will need a conical filter setup too...If track duty is in the future with any kind of tire you will need a traction bar or rancho arm...

Most people want 2 programs on their chip for warm/cold weather or street/track duty. You can get that chip in 3 flavors. Superchip,Diablo or Autologic. The key to what you buy is your relationship with the person who burns the chip and how easy they are to get ahold of. Turn around time is also a big plus...The valve body is basically a shift kit. Do a search on Factory tech nick (Gregg) or one of his many distributors.... https://www.f150online.com/vendors.cfm

Don't forget to tell him about the infamous and highly debated reflash. This is where instead of having a chip, your computer codes are actually changed. High debated topic on the pros and cons of this type of cpu change. For around $1000 she can really make her truck come alive and easily be into the 12's.

Your right and this is an option. The majority of people here have chips and are VERY pleased with them...

personally if i had a brand new truck, i WOULD NOT PUT A CHIP IN IT. at the very least not for a few thousand miles and some oil changes. the superchips tuner is suppolse to be able to handle a pulley with the new version, so that would be a way to go, and the predator might eventually come out. so if she can wait a few months which im sure she can, i would wait and see how some of these products take shape. who knows a blower upgrade might be in her future.

If you go with the chip and pulley regardless of your mileage. Make sure you put that L on a dyno and do it right.

There are a lot of templates (chip programs) for the '01's and '02's, but depending on who you go to, I would recommend having a custom template designed for you! A lot of guys will refer to it as a custom tune. Any of the tuners (vendor's) on this board would be glad to help you!

Good Luck and welcome!

D-Day

thanks for the info guys.. and yea she is one cool gf.. she almost bought a 04 gt.. then i was like wait your always talking about a lightning and you will be able to beat me even if im spraying a full 150 shot.. so she smiled and was like ok then im getting the lightning..

she had a v6 mustang and her moms got a 02 ws6 ta that i did a few mods to for her like slp loud mouth exhaust and air box mods..

now she steped up to the L.. as long as i get to drive it im happy.. hehe..

also the numbers mean everything.. stock flywheel is 380 according to svt website.. whats that rear wheel its 20% less correct.. and with the 6 # pully what is the blowers ps1 and estimate of what kinda hp she will be putting down..

thanks
