Intercooler leak

I have the famous intercooler leak on my 99 Lightning, and have serveral questions:
1.Does anyone sell aftermarket intercoolers for the 99.
2.Can this unit be removed and repaired?
3.What about Bars leak in the intercooler??
4.Where can I find info on removing the intercooler??

Ford will not cover this work saying the recall ended in Sept.02.I think this is Bull****.

Really kind of surprised nobody responded to your inquiry. Maybe because there are hundreds of threads regarding leaking intercoolers for the 99/00 model years. I replaced my original intercooler at 17K. The second and third ones were at 30K and 37K repectively. I have almost 30K on my upgraded Ford replacement with no problems. For the most part, the replacement from Ford is adequate.

I'm sure there are some guys that have replaced their own originals with the upgrade. No really big task. If you have it done at a Ford dealership, expect $750-$1,000 for the total job. The original is not worth repairing as there was a design flaw so you would only be putting a band aid on the problem. Get the Ford replacement and do it yourself if the dealer won't honor the previous recall.

e-mail me and I'll give you all the information you want regarding the leaking intercooler and possible routes to have Ford fix it and pay for it.
