This is a story I was told by some HS kids yesterday.
This kid at their HS has a L, he let his girlfriend get behind the wheel the other day.
She floored it (I like her so far
) spun the tires (still liking her
) and then lost control (stopped liking her
). The back of the truck went side-eays through a hedge and then she careened off of a wall and plowed straight into a powerpole with a transformer.
The school had a black-out and CXL'ed classes.
This is the story I was told, anyone from Saratoga, CA that can elaberate.....please do, especially the "lucky" boyfriend/owner.

sounds like a buddy of mine.. he was working on his car while it was on ramps in his driveway.
he told his girlfriend to pop the hood so he could get some more light to work with..
his driveway is on an incline... she pulled the e-brake release!
after he healed up, all he had to do was tell her to give him some... LOL LOL
I let my girlfriend drive her yesterday to a party and back. It was only for like 5 min both ways. Either way, she tried flooring it but didnt all the way, she got scared, lol. But she didnt scare me that much and she was very happy that she got to drive it, i was happy after that too, hehe.
My wife can drive the L anytime she wants............................it's just a truck and she's not a 16 yr old girl (which is a good thing, otherwise I'd be spending time trying to spell - STATSATORY/STATCHATORY/STATCHETORY/STATUTORY/STATETORY)
See I don't know how to spell it - thats a good thing

Yup...my girl can drive my L any time. She's not 16, she's not friggin' dumb, and she knows how to drive. It also helps having them be used to the power so she doesn't get skeered if it gets a little squirelly!
And I don't need to let her drive in order to get some. If you know how to please her, you will get more than you can handle!!!!

I let my girl drive the L, but only for short distances, and only on a nice sunny day. Not at night, and not in the rain or when it could be wet out.
A friend of ours let his girl take his L out for the day. She and her friend (was in the truck as well) planted the front end into a freeway barrier wall at 50mph on a long onramp. She had floored it in the rain. His truck got a new frame and a bunch of other parts. 17k worth of damage and somehow it wasn't totaled by his insurance.
She seemed like she really felt bad about it, but she dumped him a couple months later.
