4x4 pan capacity

OK, I did a search, with no straight answers.

Have a 2003, installing the 4x4 pan, and filter, I was wondering how much fluid this should take.

7 quarts?
Thanks

I can give you a little help. I installed the Factory Tech valve body in my 4R100 tranny last week. My torque converter has a drain plug in it as well so I drained it as well. I used a total of 15 qts to fill it back up. Sorry it isn't a direct answer but I have never changed just the tranny fluid in the pan, I would only get half the old stuff out like that. Don't you guys have a torque converter drain plug in you 4R100s? If not, 7 qts should do it fine. To tell if you have a tq drain plug look for a half dollar size black rubber boot in the tranny houseing under where the tq is. If you have one of these take it out and the rotate the engine over with a socket(tranny in neutral/parking brake on) its a 9mm pipe plug in the tq, take it out and all that old fluid will drain from the tq.
