Thumbs up raced a SC Z06 & AMG

I've owned my L for about 10 months and have never had a good race, then today I had 2 awsome races within a half hour.

First one I noticed a yellow zo6 with a cowl hood looked really sweet, anyways we caught a light. We both rolled out to about 30 his front bumper was at my door, then we both jumped on it about the same time, by the time I hit 70 he had 2 cars on me and pulling hard! We had to slow for a light and traffic, he rolled down his window I asked if it was a z06 he said ya, then he said it's supercharged, I gave him the thumbs up and told him sweet car then he turned off. There's alot of lingenfelder cars around here, this is were there from, so I'm pretty sure that's what it was, I wish I could of talked to him more but I don't think he was up for chatting. Anyone seen a lingenfelder vette at the track? what do they run?

Second one was a silver AMG convertible not sure the model, but he was in front of me at light, it turned green and he took off and I pursued I was wot and didn't catch him but he wasn't pulling we went to about 80, then caught a light. I left at half throttle, then when my rear bumper was at his front bumper he nailed it and so did I he pulled me pretty hard at first and got a car length by 70 then stayed even up to about 100. then we both shut it down. We exchanged waves and went on our ways.

BTW I've got 4lb and jdm chip and run 12.80's -- chris

well if that Z06 was a lingenfelter(sp?) and it was supercharged i would imagine it would run at least low low 11s probably tens. i know the tt lingenfelters are capable or running 9s with just slicks. be happy it was even a race

from the sound of it, that AMG was probably an SL 55. those have 494 hp (i think, i know its atleast 490).

you did pretty well for the mods you have against those two cars. they are both insane fast and you kept up

Don't forget they have an atvantage from a roll. I have never raced a Lingenfelter but I have raced 7 diffrent vetts and haven't lost to one out of the hole.

My favorite line to them when there talking smack is...

"It's a shame you spent all that money on a sports car to see my trailer hitch go by you!"

Peace, Suavy

I don't know guys, I would stake my life on the fact that a ligenfelter blown Zo6 would stomp on even a heavily modded L on the street. Even from a stop that vette should whack the L.

This is on street tires so imagine what that car would do with slicks! And to tell you the truth, the vortech and ATI procharger packages are allot more powerful then the LPE package and there cheaper too!

Supercharged 5.7 L Lingenfelter Corvette Engine Package
490 BHP** - LS1 1997 - 2003
510 BHP - ZO6 2001
520 BHP - ZO6 2002 - 2003

0-60-MPH 3.7 seconds 1/4 mile-11.7 sec @ 126 MPH
As tested by Car & Driver 4/2002

Package includes:
Magnuson "Magnacharger" supercharger package - silver painted finish
Properly sized fuel injectors
Custom LPE fiberglass hood painted & blended - shown

i agree there are some real fast cars out there two weeks agao i was at the track there was a yellow hennesey 600 vennom there
he was running street tires he showed me time slips of him runing 7.3 1/8 mile at like 110 and one of a 6.7 at 117
btw thw 6.7 was with a 150 shot. i belive him to he ran a 7.5
and found out he was only on 9 cylinders.

and a buddy of mine ownes a 03 zo6 and i would take a pretty good lightning to keep up

Uh, it sounds like it was just a supercharged ZO6. If my poor memory serves me well, Lignenfelter (as of about a year or so ago) just had a twin turbo vette. They raced it against a jet in Car and driver. I think it ran 9's in the quarter stock. Or very low 10's. Not too shabby for a bit over $100,000.

But I doubt that that was a Lignenfelter.
