Not exactly the same...

Not exactly the same as the Ford version, in fact quite a bit different.

Ford:
Chills a small resevior and releases it at WOT. Doesn't affect AC and can be used at the track because AC compressor doesn't need to be on...

This one:
Inline chiller for IC fluid. On constantly. Constantly takes away from AC effectivness. AC compressor running on the track is a big no-no.

Still get a big from me, but not quite the same...

if i were to fab something, id use a seperate refrigeration circuit and use some r-23 or something like that, at least r-12 and it might work a little better.

How does the Ford version ( that has been rumored to be shelved ) cool the system if it doesnt use the AC compressor ? It has a separate compressor ? Or does it use unobtainium ?

I understood it used the A/C but stored the cool to avoid running A/C it on the track. In other words you could prechill the system then turn off A/C and stage and run with A/C off

Ford's system...

You're right Doug.

I meant that the Ford system doesn't ALWAYS use the compressor. I'd imagine this system will definetly hurt your AC output whereas the Ford system your AC would be a little warm for a couple of minutes after a WOT run...

Well, that depends on what you call "the track." On the road courses I run, there are no rules against using an A/C (at least none I'm aware of).

I wanna see some hp/torque numbers with that thing and how long the extracooling lasts, I'd much prefer a 40hp blast for 30 seconds comapred to 10hp for 5 minutes.

I would think that as long as you got the fluid cool, you could shut the compressor off for the run.
