Question SFI axles?

Where are you 10 second guys getting your SFI axles? You are using SFI axles, aren't you? What do you think of going to a floating rear end?

Same here. The problem is not that you can't axles made, the problem is even if you get axles, you still need C-clip eminators, which nobody makes, or is interested in making so far. I've been trying for months.

As Sal pointed out, you need C Clip Elimins and so far, no one makes anything for the 9.75.. Maybe 2 years from now...

George, you can always try adapting an 8.8 to your truck

Why do you need SFI axles anyhow? You dont drag race, you do the corner thing.

Kev, I do the Irwindale thing occasionally (when my truck is running), in fact that's where I first met Tim, Jay, and Dante. I just figure they make those rules for a reason, and since I drive my truck to the track I would hate to break something like an axle or driveshaft and have to pay AAA to tow it home. One tow would cost me more than an axle or driveshaft. Just trying to figure out what I can do to eliminate breakdowns.

SFI Axles are more of a safety issue. BTW George, get AAA+, you get an addtional 100 miles which should be enough to get you home. Speaking of Irwindale, when are you coming down?

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into it. Plan to come to Irwindale as soon as truck is running and I get a few miles on it; need to baseline the new mods. If Dale gets his calipers ground and has room I might try to catch a ride with him Thursday and come out and watch.

PS. Went by AAA today. Figured 100 miles wasn't enough since Famoso, Carlsbad, and Norton are all over that, so I got the premium upgrade, 200 miles towing and lots of other stuff, only $48 more. Great suggestion, Kev.

Here's a quote I read todqy in a different forum:
Stan had a bad mechanical problem today and won't be running the Lightning in Saturday's and Sunday's event (broken axles).
Now I'm quite a bit more concerned about axle breakage.

Okay, so that is one person who is legal for a NHRA track 10 second pass. I guess everyone else is breaking the rules.
