It is the third plug back from the front on the right as you face the engine. Are there any tsb's on this. Thanks for any info. The thing blew goin 65mph on the freeway. If your truck is stock you definitely won't have a problem even if you've exceeded the 36K miles on the odometer. One thing NOT to do is call Ford customer Service and bitch them out - not good.

Ford will definitely take care of you.

Not likely to happen. Ford's not going to cover the burden of cost for a head that has not had any problems. Hopefully he won't have any problems getting the bad head fixed under warranty.

I got 03 heads on my 02. To get them both replaced, you need to have a good relationship with your dealer...

You can always unscrew one on the other side and let it blow out too so they both need to be replaced

Ford should be RECALLING this problem, but they choose not to.

So, if we want a new anything, all we have to do is sabatoge the part and we will get new ones?

If my blower isn't new enough for me, should I strategically place incindiary devices in parts of the blower for a new one? That would be straight.

on a related note, I just changed the plugs for the first time in the '03 this past Friday afternoon and at 10,000 miles I found ALL 8 plugs were still tight!!!

as compared to the red truck (old heads) which I believe at 6000 miles had 3 plugs only finger tight!

later,
chris

Did i ask for 4 threads to hold my spark plugs in?

Did i ask for the launching plug syndrome?

Why is it MY problem to cough up a left nut for FORD to do whats right?

Not my problem pal. If 2003's get new heads, i think its fair we all get them. Of course, your mileage may very. There's no ethics involved in this one. Im not trying to get a new engine because i tossed rods, so get over yourself already.
