It was one of my first mods. Rather easy to install, too. I like it, but I have had a lot of people warn me about water in the lower intake, especially living in Florida. But since my L won't see rain if I can help it I am not particularly worried.

Over all my only complaint is the flimsy screen on top of the box, should have a latch or something to secure it. At least it makes an attempt to draw cold air and uses the original side in take in the fender, too.

I don't know of another one that does all that for the money? Here's a side note, my KB warranty is void if I use an air filter system that only draws engine bay air and doesn't utilize the fender port, interesting. The JLP system draws cold air, well as much as it can.

It should have come with a screw to attach the screen to the box on both sides.

We have the boxes on our L & Wood. The wife definitely noticed a difference in the Wood (it was the only mod) & I've been very pleased with the L.

I drilled a couple small holes and used some self tapping screws that I had lying around. Works like a champ to hold that screen in place. I also painted them black with some touch up paint.

Dan: you should have receive trim to go over the edge of the box and a small screw to secure the lid down.. Maybe you didn't receive those items. let me know and we'll make sure you get them. as far as the water issue there is none. our kit is not a *sealed* unit which only draws air from the scoop. it also gets air from the fender and top. we designed it that way so it wouldn't *suck* water from beneath. you can submerge the lower scoop in water and still will not *suck* any water in the intake.. the scoop below simply *forces* the outside air up to the filter..
