yes, take the cloth and foam off and bend it until the welds snap, your finished, took me about an hour with clean up after.

Why don't you just renforce the foam, so the bar can't rip through the foam.

I just glued some burlap to the bottom of the foam, and problem was all fixed.

Even better idea but, the seat has to be removed for all of this right?

because for most people, the bar is the problem no it ripping the foam, when i got my seat replaced it still hurt my ***, so i broke the bar out.

mine done under warranty!

Eventhough yours may not have warranty left, you might get them to fix as "good will adjustment" Don was right about burlap,but new foam is needed. Good Luck!
