Need Advice from Dynatech Header Owners

Here's the situation...Truck is in the garage on jack stands with the old exhaust removed and the driver side header and cat secured to the truck. The passenger side just won't go. There are 3 of us working it from different angles.

The box and invoice both say part number 122-842230 yet the headers are stamped 122-842200 on them. Is this correct?

It's 1 a.m. and my truck is inop. Can someone kindly offer some advice on installing the passenger side header?

Thanks in Advance,

I don't have dynatech headers, but if one side doesn't fit, and the numbers don't match up, that would be good enough for me to tell the company they sent a wrong side.

I think I am breaking the rules by responding this way, but when a fellow L owner needs help, what the hell.

Call this number 954 917 9200 and ask for Tim, Paul, Keith or Dave they can help. I watched the installation of my Dynatech long tubes and there are a few tricks of the trade involved.

Dan

Good Luck! And by the way they are awesome!

Dan,

I will call them. Don't let anyone convince you these things are easy to install...driver's side...okay. The passenger side is much more difficult. It requires 2 250 pound men shoving and grunting to get them in position. It would have been quite helpful if any instructions were included. Update...both headers are installed with their cats and we're moving on towards the rear of the truck. God what I would give for a lift!

Gary,
I'm sorry you had difficulty installing the header and I can certainly understand your frustration however I can assure that instructions would not contain in the tools needed section "2 250lb men"

Once the stock exhaust and studs are removed intsall goes as such
1) remove the 8mm bolt retaining the trans dipstick tube

2) Slide the header from UNDERNEATH the truck up into place
(removal of the starter or any peripheral component is not needed..on some vehicles you may have to bend the heat shield slightly)

Paul

ive heard that sometimes on this truck when you install any type of header that it makes it somewhat easier to loosen one of the engine mounts. i dont know if that applies to the dynatechs???

I have installed Dynatech headers on two 03 Lightnings and one 00 Lighting. They are the easyest headers I have ever installed. Like Paul said remove everyting in your way and install the headers from underneith. Takes me about two hours to install them
