I have an 02. Problem started about 6 months ago. Every so often for no reason my L just either stalls, wants to stall then comes back or the newest problem starts to shutter, the temp gage goes up in the red like its getting ready to blow, and when you push on the gas the truck doesn't have any power. I have a diable chip and have changed to 2 diffrent chips. I also have the basic mods like 4lber, factory tech, etc. I am now working with ford and an SVT rep at the ford dealership. I have a recorder on my computer and when the problem happens I have to hit the recording button and it takes a snap shot that ford can read. I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem and if they ever found out what the problem was. I know of 2 other L's that are 01s with this same or Very simular problem.

 

When you pull the chip are you still experiencing the problems? Just remember to tread lightly and try to stay out of any sustained boost while you are testing.

It happens with the chip out too. Always happens at in idle or going really slow never on boost!!

 

I have the same problem every now and then. My temp does not change though. It seems that the computer has a brain fart or something. I would like to know what causes this as well.

The stuttering and stalling at idle rpms/speed sounds like a dirty or worn IAC but not the temp gauge going into the red......... I'll try to remember to check my Haynes manual at home tonight.
