kenne bell and nitrous

okay so im running 14 psi now with the eaton and a 75 shot on the stock block. im thinking seriously about getting the KB, my main question is apparently your gonna gain like 50 horses by running the KB at 14 psi right of the bat, will that 75 shot kill the motor???

You will probably gain about 25 hp at equal boost. Skip

My opinion is yes it will blow. I think 480-500rwhp is the limit for stock rods and that is with a conservative tune. The power should also be used in short bursts. A KB @14psi should be near 480-500rwhp the 75 shot would put you near 600rwhp and a lot of torque.

I think you will be fine with a 50-75hp shot. I know JL is running a KB with 23#'s of boost on his Harley Truck so you should be fine with the 50-75hp shot. On your current setup how much ET reduction did you see from the 75hp shot?

A K/B at about 14 pounds is about 425 hp in cooler weather. At 16 pounds I make 430 in 90 degree heat on 91 octane. Race gas and program should be around 440 to 450. I run 16 pounds on a stock engine with no problems at all. I drive it everyday to work. Skip

You also make 38 pounds of torque more than I do. Different dyno, different gas, conservitive 91 octane program, no electric fan. My truck makes 12 pounds up to about 4000 rpm and then jumps to 16 pounds. I think that is why the torque is down. Skip

Theoretically, you would probably be ok. However, if anything goes wrong like it leans a little or pings I think you may have an issue.

Now I am wondering if I need a KB........I was looking at getting one and build the bottom of the 02 L, but those numbers don't look good at all. I am having one put on for my Cobra and it will make over 600 RWHP.
