quick question...

i have been having some weird things happening with my truck.

when i am driving and hit the gas a little more, the truck needs to downshift and doesnt do it cleanly. it will kind of hesitate then it seems like it is looking for a gear to go into. you can hear the supercharger bounce around at different pitches (louder whine and softer whine) i wanted to find out if this has anything to do with my chip. also, to find out for sure i wanted to remove my chip and drive around without it for a little bit. i have a #4 lower and a 90mm MAF. will this be really bad on my truck even if i take it easy?

another thing, when i turn corners or do a u-turn, the engine will rev up when i hit the gas but the truck doesnt really go anywhere. then, it will violently "lock in" and i will have full power again. i beleive this is my differential, i just wanted to know if this is normal. it doesnt seem like it has always been like this.

lastly, if i am driving around normal (not hotrodding) my truck seems to rev a little more when it shifts gears. lets say it shifts at 2500, it will start to shift, then rev to 2700 and complete the shift. it happens very quickly but it still concerns me.

i have a couple months left on my 3/36000 warranty so i want to find out if am going to be needing a new tranny.

thanx for all the help as i know a lot of you have needed to replace your transmissions. just curious if these are things i need to be concerned with.

Every single one of those problems sounds like a trans problem to me. I would pull the chip. You will not hurt a thing driving around without a chip. I have done it plenty of times. Pull the chip and give some feedback. -Mat-

I put 250 miles on my truck with a 5lb lower and 2lb upper without a chip once. As long as you stay out of the boost you'll be fine.

i had a truck that would slip out of gear when turning. turns out the tranny fluid was leaking out and went low enought to slosh around in turns causing a drop in hydraulic pressure. just a thought

well, i just checked the trans fluid and it looks good. the engine has been off for about 3 hours (yet it is still 105 outside) and the fluid came to the middle of the "hot" mark.

whats the next step, the dealership?

Pull The Chip

I would do the same. Pull the chip and see if the trannie still acts up. You will not hurt anything as long as you keep your toes out of the blower.
