Just need a straight answer

I was at Advantage Ford in Calgary, Alberta today and all the info I heard on the release of the release of the next Gen Lightning was shot down in flames. Now the new Lightning is comeing out between Feburary and April of 05 or is all of this just propiganda (B.S) help me out here I' am just simpley confused this forum hasn' t let me down yet. I found this all out after I got back from a test drive on a 03 Cobra Sonic Blue. to make a long story short the Lightning might be going Bye Bye in other words a 03 Sonic Blue Lightning may be for sale

Don't know much about the new Lightning, sorry.
I guess you are doing pretty damn good though if you are test driving a 2003 Cobra! They are great cars man! Glad you are doing well. -Mat-

Hey Pat, how ya been bud?

The dealers are the last to hear about what SVT is doing. The only real people who know whats going to be released are SVT and Roush themselves. I think SVT is just kicking back, waiting for Dodge to release their Pig so they can squash it.

Weird, first i heard it was scraped. I did speak to a 2002 Viper owner at the track a few weeks ago, infact he hung out with us Lightning guys all night. He said that the dealers have contacted him re: a purchase of the said sled but nothing was in concrete until Jan. Seems they keep pushing it back and/or awaiting to see what Coletti brews up.

I see either bring it to the table or squash it. So far, PVO only has SRT-4's out there.. most of which are getting slapped silly by Subs and Mitsu's.

i think the SRT-4 isnt in the same market as the STI or Evo. $20,000 vs. $30,000+. all in all they need to bring out that truck.

Youre right, they arent in the same market but, whatever you lineup with at the dragstrip is what you run. I see lightnings line up with Vipers and slap them, although they arent same market. Price is irrelevant.

They are actually all in the same market. 4 cyl. econobox's w/ turbos. The SRT10 costs 10k+ more than a Lightning and they are in the same market also. We need some competition!

Ford won't come out with the New L until the DOdge is out.

Dodge isn't putting a V-10 in the Truck, but a Souped up Hemi engine.

After that Ford will release the New L.
remember what Colletti said. "te L will be the fastest truck on the planet"

I-Menace is correct!! 2005 is the new double overhead cam, 3 valve LIGHTNING. NOTHING, I say again, NOTHING in a truck or very many factory stock cars are going to TOUCH IT!!

Just fyi, the srt-10 ram is being built, it is slated to start it's production run in the fall, so you will see them in december of 03 or Jan of 04. Still no word on the price, anywhere from 40-50K.

There is also a solid rumor the current viper v-10 is being scraped for a smaller displacement hemi v-10 that will push 600hp. It's still just a rumor but one I've heard over and over.
