We all know the Intercooler Pump switch is a great mod and it seems to go hand in hand with the elec fan install.

But for people like me running no cooling Mods at all,
Can I simply leave the key in the on position
(w/ the truck off),
and will that run the intercooler pump ???

 

No. The pump doesn't run with just key on.

I guess that makes sence that it wouldn't do anything without the use of a fan to cool it as it moved through the exchanger.

I personally think the fluid pumping when the trcuk is off is better than leaving the fluid int eh core of the intercooler to soak up heat. I have a temp gun and have monitored tems after some hard runs then pulling in to the local hangout.
outside temp about 75-80 when tested and at night.
If you leave pump only on temp stayed at 95
With pump and fans on temp will come down to 85-90
If you just turn truck off go inside and come back outside then turn the switch on the pump temp goes over 100

I will test again tommorow night to comfirm the results above.
