I changed my oil after 3000 and then every 4000 for the first year
Take it easy on it for about 1000 miles .... <grin>
Congratulations on your purchase.

Take it easy..................? is that possible? Advice from an '03 L owner that put his first KB on at 500 miles (yes I am crazy).
Keep your factory oil for at least 2500 miles, let eveything seal that is the most important. Been there done that. Then upgrade to a synthetic (spelling ?).
You will get a wide variety of opinions on this sight and most of them are on the money. Great group of L owners here.
Some will argue a break-in period others will state pound it from day one - this is where you need to decide for yourself, but know this and congratulations, you have just purchased one of U.S.A.'s finest sport trucks, let me correct myself "the finest" truck in the land! So, enjoy and welcome!!!
