3# JLP pulley is on need some tips please!!

I got it on and all I can say is WOW . Are there any do's and don't with the added boost. Like is it bad if I get a wild hair and want to blast away to 120mph which does not take long to do. What can I do to keep from breaking anything? The truck is still under warranty and I would like to keep the truck in one piece.I do take it to the track 2 to 4 times a year and run on street tires and drive it fairly easy on the street I don't flog it much.Oh and the stock gauge is useless now
Here are my mods:
3# JLP Crank pulley
160deg Hypertech Thermostat
Modded air box with drop in K&N
Magnaflow twin exhaust with x-pipe
FTVB
Thanks,
Jeff

I don`t think you will have any problems, are you still running the stock plugs?, you might want to change them, im using Denso IT 20 plugs, what about a chip?, you probably don`t need one with a 3lb pulley, but it will help you take full advantage of the new pulley, ive been running a 4lb pulley for 10.000 miles, no problems at all.

Yes I'm runing the stock plugs they only have 19,000 miles on them I have some NGK TR6's ready. I'm going to go with the reflash from Blue Oval Performance just need to lay low for a while on the money spending I told the wife after spending $10,000 on Mods for the Miata that the Lightning would not need any it was ready to go stock(right) the speed bug had bit again.Just don't want to get to crazy went through two motors on the Miata I guess that is what you get when you double the HP on a 4cyl engine.Plus still got a warranty til dec 04 and then a exstended warranty don't need any issues.

Pretty much the same mods I have on mine. 3#, Open K&N, Line Mod, Magnaflows, NO chip. Been this way for quite a while with no problems at all.

Man thats good to hear the wife would kill me if I blew another motor like I did with the Miata.I guess doubling the HP on a 4cyl is not the best for dependability.

I hear ya. I've more than doubled the HP on my Syclone, but it took a couple motors (and one transmission so far), to get it right. Luckily, only the stock engine was my fault ---> My wallet . Now everything seems to be good though.

Oh, and I'm still running the original spark plugs with 30K on the truck now.

Nothing like a little more boost hu Jeff

You should feel 6lbs of extra pulley
Then add a cold fall night
Then add 75 HP of Juice
and

Like everyone said, you picked a safe pulley at 3lbs
and should have yrs of trouble free driving
GOOD LUCK BRO

Life is good I love the extra boost pulling up a hill at part throttle nets about 4psi and it pulls smoothly without down shifting I LOVE IT!!!!! Oh and 78f1hundo I save a cat the other day gave him something to climb out of the Fire station dumpster with. Rob I bet 6# and a 75 shot would scare the crap out of me give me sometime I can't seem to let well enough alone.

So how fast does putting $10,000 into a Miata get you>??? Or was it for road course racing>??? You truck should hold together pretty good, just listen for detonation. Goodluck with the new-found power! -Mat-

How fast????

I got a 8.72 @ 80mph in the 1/8th not to bad for a 4cyl. For the money I could have gone the turbo route and been way down into the 10-11's in the 1/4. I built it for eveyday driving and dragracing.I loved that car but I'm addicted to the Lightning can't seem to stop driving it.
