Question Reversing Wierd Fog Light MOD ???

I bought my truck used years ago, and one of the things done to it was a foglight mod. Not the normal one that everyone has that allows you to turn your foglights on w/o the headlights....

This mod is its either parking lamps only or everything on at once. Foglights and headlights come on when you turn the headlights on. I want to reverse this back to stock so that I can turn on my foglights whenever i want by pulling the switch out.

That way when it rains I can leave them off so I don't crack more lenses and break more bulbs. Right now they are just unplugged.

Thanks for any help guys,

Jon

I think to do it that way the guy spliced the number 7 and 12 wire together. So all you need to do is take out the wire connecting those two.

That explains most of the ways the mod can be done so you can see how to reverse it.

At the top of the switch you need to use a flat head screw driver and just ease it in and wedge down and the switch should pop out, all the wires should be revealed.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how will using your fog lamps in the fog and rain cause them to crack lenses and blow bulbs....

It would seem like the name "Fog Lamp" would suggest that those would be the situations when they should be used.

what am I missing here?

You must be missing that Lightning fog lights do suck a$$, and whenever you turn your lights on in the rain, the heat from the lamps causes the glass lenses to crack and eventually fall off if bad enough. Ford has been through at least 3 designs and they all do it if I'm correct.

I just want to be able to have the option of turning them on and off when i want, but some jacka$$ hardwired them to my headlights and i can't see where they are spliced anywhere??
