I guess you didn't read the part about it being a heat soaked run then. The torque is pretty good, even for a hot run.

There are not many other people on the board that has just that MUCH more hp for the mods. If I let it cooled down more iced the intake and etc. yea it could have pulled 400 something hp and more torque but I wanted numbers that are more real life HOT.

Yes I do agree I'm running a little lean maybe there is more power to be found.

But my main concern is the trans.

Sounds to me like the intermediate clutch died. Prolly the plates, but could be a mechanical diode if you have a 2001 with the 1J model tranny. If it's not a 1J it could be the sprag, but they don't let go too often.

Easterland,

Are you saying a 6 lber with chip and intake will net you over 170hp over stock #s, even with race programs?

If you pay me gas money and dyno time I'll drive down there and we'll see what my truck dynos. I guarantee it will be around 550-600 rwhp on the race side and about 40 hp less on the street side. That is 100% humidity and 90°...

Sounds to me like you are saying your truck has the same mods, yet makes at least 150 if not 200 rwhp more than brads truck. I reread the whole post trying to gather something different, but you sure made it sound like he should be pushing 550 to 600 rwhp (because you are) and obviously we are comparing apples to apples right?

Brad, sorry about the tranny. Good luck with it.

guys it's ok... My dyno numbers may not be the hottest but I'm happy with the track times and the fun factor I was just posting my dyno's for your opinions and I got them thanks.

SpeedJunkie : yea I hope the tranny is something simple but with my luck no way.

Goes in the shop wed. Yea it sucks! I swear more cars have tried to race me and it's a no go because I have no 2nd gear. Now that I will get my tranny fixed I won't see another sports car on the road for 2 months.

i dont think anyone is trying to slam ya, just seems odd that your numbers are low as they are for the mods you have. I think even on a hot engine you should be higher than that, but thats just me. Also consider that the tranny may be to blame for your lack of power.

Yeah it sounds like make you should just bite the bullet and get the monster box. You can repair your current tranny but i say do it once, do it right. JMO, its your money of course.

i had the same problem except after bouncing off the rev limiter for a few seconds it woinld shift into second and sometimes skip to third, my entire 2nd gear clutch pack was welded together, ask gregg he pulled it apart, and who do i have to thank, having the torque reduction switched off via chip, the 2 gear clutches would still hold even though there was virtualy no material left, i recomend you have gregg build you a new trany.

EDIT: isn't it a shame how fast a thread can get hijacked, his numbers are probaly low because his trany was slipping

So you would get the torque reduction put back on my chip!! Once I get a rebuild I'm going to get a FTVB and 4x4 trans pan. So I'll have to send my chip back anyways.

gregg said it is wise to get it put back in, it may reduce your et a 10th but your trany will last longer, however gregg also said if you have him build one of his monster boxes it can hold up to the reduction being turned off. plus if you have gregg build your trany he can customize your valve body to your specs, like say you want a really hard 1-2 but a little milder 2-3 or visa versa he can do that for you. shoot him an e-mail he is a real stand up guy, he re did my trany, even though it was with mostly stock parts he made it a lot better than stock, and really went out on a limb for me to, i cant tell you what but i will back him up 100% he is the only guy to go to for the e4od or the 4r100, and there are a lot of people here who will agree.
