How to seal rearend differental????

How to seal rearend differental????

What do i need to do to re-seal the rearend differental cover after changing the fluid?

Black RTV sealant. Make sure you go around the bolt holes too. No need to put it on superthick or you will have mass cleanup.

Just what he said, use about a 1/4" bead. I used the orange high temp RTV on mine about 15,000 miles ago and no problems with any leaks. They come from the factory sealed with RTV the black stuff.

I like and use the red or black Permatex High temp....no problems.

I think it is Permatex that makes it, it is called "The Right Stuff" and it is grey in color. That stuff rocks! I either use that or black RTV on the trannies I build and have no problems. There is no need to over do it either. -Mat-

Just take it in for warranty work and Ford will make sure your rearend gets sealed up-you won't have to worry about leaks 'cause they don't lube it up beforehand.
