4/6 drop vs 3/4 drop

Finally going to order my kit to drop my L this week.

I would prefer a 4/6 drop since i believe that is really a 3/5 drop on our trucks since we have 1" lowered springs and leafs.

Do you need upper control arms with the 4" drop in the front? Some places do just lower control arms and springs each having a 2" drop. Some places say that without the upper control arms you will have whacked camber and will get bad tire wear. Is this true, or more of a selling pitch?

Some companies use control arms with pressed ball joints already, is it a pain if you use a set that are not since them seem to be cheaper?

The rear for a 6" drop they just use a flip kit, i have to find my stock shackles though not sure where they are since you have to use those. I would assume i should probably get a shim kit.

I have 22" rims with 285/30/22 tires so i have monster wheel well gap right now, the hole setup is just barely taller then out stock setup.

This is a daily driver right now, with a 4/6(3/5) should i be ok, also michigan roads =(.

So far i need lower control arms, coils, flipkit, stock shackles, shim kit, probabaly shocks, maybe upper control arms. Seems price ranges from 600-780.

A 3/4(2/3) drop is a lot cheaper at $309 its just springs, shackles and hangers, but i don't think i will get rid of enough wheel well gap.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Well I would go with the 4-6 but that's just a visual thing that you have to decide on.

If I were you, I would spend the little extra money and get the upper control arms.

DJM now sells their control arms with balljoints, as does Western Chassis which seems that the popular consensus around here is that the WC arms are of better build quality.

If you buy a full kit, a shim kit should be included.

Hope I helped a little
