another Fuel Cell question.

another Fuel Cell question.
Can I just get a cell from say Summit or Jegs ... and ditch the stock sensors and pump? Or will I have to buy a special cell to use the stock stuff?

So, would the new tanks sending unit be able to patch into the wires of my existing sending unit and still work?
What will go wrong if I do ditch the sensors? I dont care if I see a dummy light all the time.... I just dont want it to run funny.
