questions about built blocks

questions about built blocks

ok heres the deal i have a 00 L with 90mm mas air, chip, air induction. i want to get NOS and pully but i have been reading up and see everybody say be carefull with a stock block. so i was thing about getting a built block. what all do ya'll do to the block. all im looking for is pushing 500 hp and some say a stock block might not hold it well i don't like mights so i was wondering what can i do to my block where it is safe to push 500hp to maybe 600hp and i daily drive it and im hard on the gas a lot of times please help thanks a lot.....chris

buy a lower end package from one of the tuners. They usually come with pistons, rods, bearings, rings, and some ARP stuff. With that package and a GOOD DYNO TUNE, you can push 550rwhp+ all day every day with no problems.

if i want the stock size pistons is that still gonna be a problem for the NOS and other mods

standard bore pistons......depends on how many miles are on your block..if block has over 50000 miles Id go .020 over....thi will not hurt anything....
