Coil pack question...

The compression in my #7 and #8 cylinders aren't exactly right I don't think. The coil packs seem a tad discolered (brown and the rubber has cracks in it). Im thinking maybe a head gasket blew. Has anyone else seem anything like this?

seen some of the earlier models leak coolant onto #3 & #4 cylinders and cause a miss but not on a L, What do the plugs look like?, what was the compression? If th COP's are the only prob. here look for a TSB that might explain the discoloration. I do know that some of the early 5.4 had head gasket problems but mostly cause of oil leaks! Have shop do a HC test to see if its really blown.

If your high compression reading is within 15% of your lowest reading I wouldnt worry...normally when the head gaskets blow its on the exhaust side and you will get antifreeze coming out your pipes.....
