It's illegal to pump your own gas in NJ.

Just pull the nozzle out a little so the pressure vents.

than it spills

the last time someone pumped my gas, they took 25 mins to get 10 bucks worth of gas in and spilled some on the side of the truck, so i just do it everytime, i know how much i can pull the trigger before it clicks but it takes a good like 20-25 mins to fill the tank up

He's right just pull the nozzle out just a little so it vents. If you put it in all the way the tank doesnt vent and pressure builds up, the auto shutoff works on a pressure system so it will turn off the pump.

I had a Honda once that was all of a sudden slow to fill. Turns out some MF put sand in my tank and it stuck at the elbow. Out here we don't have the vapor recovery system for the most part. Just my .02

Hey man, you might have a kinked hose?!! Also, inspect for blockage in case some little gangbanger stuck something in there. I've had an incident where the 'hood kids stuck some paper wrappers in the hose, causing a blockage. It took 9 hours to pull the FULL tank and clean it all up. I had to drain the gas also to double check the tank. MAJOR bummer!!! i hope that's not what happened to you!

Same as SpankDog. When I fill up weekly here in Ga, place the nozzle all the way in...put it in automatic flow...no interruptions.I believe that some states may require a different size or type nozzle...

Also hope all you guys have a locking gas cap.

If you can't figure out how to put gas in it you may just want to hand over the keys to me....

Yea, they got imported guys with cloth strips wound tight on their head that pump the gas in Jersey. Regular non-import guys get tickets for pumping gas there.

No doubt.. i think it takes like what 4 minutes or so?? Hell i dont even know but i know by the time i check the oil it is done!

I did actually have a problem filling up the other day though (first time) It shut off at 3/4 tank, probably just a fluke.

My explorer did the same thing and my uncles escort dose it to but only at cirtain gas stations. spank is right if you pull the nozzle out a little it should pump fine. unless somthing is clogged.
