How to Launch with ET Streets?

Guys,

I run 13.02 at 5800 feet. Have stock convertor. My best 60 foot is 1.90. Track prep is not the greatest.
I launch at 900rpm. If I go to 1100rpm I slow to 2.05.
Should I try stalling higher and spinning em through the 60 foot?

What do you guys do that are running similar times but getting way better 60 foot times?

Thanks

Not ET streets but my best 60ft on nitto's has been launching off idle and stabbing it through the floor board. So far 1.74 60ft.

First, I would go get a set of Hoosier Quick Time Pro's

It depends what mods you have. maybe bring it up to a 1200 rpms and go easy on it. Of course, I never had luck with ET Streets. I think Soap is the one who knows and has cut good times with those tires...

The best way I found to launch them was at 18psi hot. I would get to the track swap on my slicks and set them at 15-16psi. Then after my first pass and burnout I would come back and recheck the pressure. 9 times out of 10 I had to lower them back down to 18psi (typically they were around 20psi).

ET Streets, stock convertor and a set of Jay's Truck Traks got me consistant 1.69-1.71's.

On second thought.......who in their right mind would use anything but 16X10 Wheels + 28X10 Hoosiers + LFP Ranchos to get 1.41's en route to blistering 8.0 1/8th mile passes.

Roast em!!!!! I was doing small burnouts and would only get a best of maybe 1.90.

Then, I started putting truck in drive and burning out until the smoke just rolled.

That put em in 1.80-1.85 range. This is w/ just ET strts. nothing else.

Thanks guys, Guess I need to roast em more then. What launch rpm though?

On the hoosiers, I agree they would be better....but I have 3.55 gears so I thought 28* tires would put me around a 3.45 rear end. The 26" gives me around 3.73s at the track.

Hmmm....so i need gears and new slicks

Thumbs up

I bought Soaps wheels and tires pictured above. And he was 100% right. 18psi hot and stab it from off idle to no more than 800rpms. Anything other than this and my 60fts go up.

WOT

I've found that launching at anything over or even near 1000 rpm will still spin the et streets.

I bring the truck up to just over idle. Then unleash 4lbs of unchipped fury (or something )

I found that launching over 1000 is a waste, not because you spin but because I wasn't flashing the convertor hard enough. I launched right at 900rpms and matted it..........great traction and a good flash
