is there any way to pull thrown codes at all from my truck using the odometer trick or any other method?

i think auto zone or napa has the scanner to do it

 

is it something you can rent? cause my truck is sitting dead. And I am tired of waiting for someone else to check it out.

Get a hand held scanner like the Hellion. They are not too expensive (thinks I paid $200), but besides reading error codes they can give you lots of other info for tuning purposes. Kind of handy for someone like me that is so far away from any tuner.
