Today Hypertech put on a free dyno day for SVTOA Memphis. They fed us breakfast and lunch, gave us a tour of their dyno facility which was top shelf. (climate controlled & you could eat off the floor it was so clean) They taped interviews with each driver next to his vehicle and taped every dyno run. They're also making us all compiled tapes of the dyno day. They even had a big screen tv and sound system in the cafeteria so you could watch other peoples cars being dyno'd while you sat in air conditioning and eating free food. It was a total class act and I appreciate Hypertech and all their employees for doing such a great job, on their day off no less. Did I mention everything was FREE? If only more companies were like that. Oh yeah I forgot the best part. I put down 480hp on a Mustang dyno.

Nope, that was afterwards when we all got together and treated the Hypertech guys to dinner at Hooters. It was the least we could do for their generosity.

That was by far the best event that I have attended. The people there were extremely nice and when out of there way to make sure we got VIP treatment. Hope to do it again.

You forgot to mention that your first run wasn't counted because it jumped into 2nd on that POS Mustang Dyno. On the average we saw a drop of 10 HP on superchargered vehicles between the first and second pull when everthing went right the first time. So Jimmy's 2 pulls that counted were his 2nd and 3rd. They gave each vehicle two pulls. Taking this into consideration you would have made at least 490 HP and that's not even getting into the melted ice in your powercooler issue which would probably been more HP.

My first pull was like Jimmy's and thrown out because it acted funny like it was trying to jump into 2nd but didn't. My 2nd and 3rd pulls were my 2 pulls. The good part is my 2nd pull was 430 HP and it only fell off 4 HP on the 3rd pull. My first pull would have probably been around 440 if everything had of went right.

The funny thing is we started the pull at 3200 RPM just like on the Dynojet last year which gave use no problems. We started my second pull at 3400 RPM and it didn't try to kick down. The torque numbers that the Mustang dyno gave us were totally stupid we won't go there except to say they were barely more than the HP.

As stated above they were super nice people with a top notch facility. Maybe if they do this next year we can talk them into letting us run on the Dynojet like all the nonblown guys.

I did some research on the mustang dyno and it looks like we were on an MD 1750 single cylinder dyno. Everything that I read said it should only be about 20 HP and 20 Ft Lbs. of torque lower than the Dynojet. They told us the Mustang was corrected to read the same as the Dynojet but the TQ numbers are hosed bad. The pulls started at 3400 RPM (I was in the truck) but the graph starts at 4000 or above. It does not even start the flatter line of the TQ until 4700 and above. It does not show the highest HP on anybodies chart under the graph because it went in 200 rpm increments. They told me mine was 430 HP but the chart missed it. The highest it shows it 426. The same happened with Jimmy's. The inductive pickup had a problem on everybodies between 5200 and 5600 rpm that's the big dip. Mustang Dynos are fine but this one had issues for some reason. Here are pics of the Dynojet dyno pulls at the top and Mustang dyno at the bottom. It leaves you wondering "what the hell happened".

 

The torque numbers were way off. I wish they would've let us use the DynoJet. Maybe next year.

From what I read there are several entries to be made with the mustang dyno and think they had this one hosed up bigtime. The dynojet from what I read is pretty much idiot proof.

I think they had it set right for the HP but that's where it all ended.

A few of us need to get together and see if Lucky's will give us a price break since that's where we had are last pulls anyway.

 

I have to say Hypertech is the friendliest bunch of folks i have ever met. They treated you just like family. My completely Stock )3 Sonic blue came in at RWHP 369 and RWT 398. I only got 2000 miles on it as well. Was a great time, to bad i had to leave and could take them out to eat. Hope to get some videos of my truck on the dyno, ran off with out my camera. They will help you out in anyway they can.
