they launch like a catapult out of the hole. Stockers start running out of breath above about 90mph though. how does a 1/8 mile compare to times in the 1/4?

 

Looking at the times above, the 1/4 look strong in relation to the 1/8. I guess when they are hitting the spray it just makes them run like a beast. I heard that that is a tough motor. I would love a new one as a daily driver. I hate the big wing!!!

 

The real cool part is that all those times are on street tires. AWD = killer 60ft. My WRX STi will be here in 1-2 weeks.

 

my friend has one, and its modded slightly. reflashed ecu, new pulley, decatted.(has four cats stock) plugs. Runs 13.2 fast little car, but he says it has some flaws(transmission) aparently if you put over 300rwhp they dont last. Anyway i like the cars they are fast. I wouldnt mind having one.

 

they are not all that fast unless you have some decent mods done to them. My roommate has a 02 WRX with a reflashed ECU and I blow his doors off by at least 4 car lengths everytime in my stock L. He had it dynoed after the computer work and it pulled 195HP and just over 200lbs.

Are there dynos that work with 4WD or do you have to disconnect the front axle?

They make awd dynos. Most shops don't bother with them because of price versus need. There just aren't enough awd performance vehicles out there to justify the expenditure.

 

Thanks! Back when I owned my Syclone I couldn't find an awd dyno anywhere. Guess the Sy was ahead of its time.

 

If I recall the 02 and the standard 03 WRX has only 227 HP. The Ti version is the one with the 300HP. There is a big differance in the 1/4 times. 14.0 to 13.0 and mid 90 to 103 or so.

 

Dynapack is the most used AWD dyno. Alot of shops around ATL have/use them.

 

So, do the AWD dynos average the power output between front and rear wheels?

Also, I assume there is a proportionally greater power loss (from flywheel to drive wheels) than in a two-wheel drive platform.
