How does it hook so well?

Someone asked me... what makes the truck hook so well, when there's really nothing "weighing" the rear wheels down.
I have no idea... I drive them, I don't design them.
Does anyone have a good answer? Suspension?

Weight Distribution,
f/r ---> 57% / 43%

That's really not that bad.

Throw in a hard tonneau cover, traction bars, a bed liner, and the weight transfer afforded by softer spring rates than cars.... Well, that's just gravy.

Did my first cruise in Wednesday. Couple guys standing by my truck talkin' didnt realize it was mine. "Why would you spend that much just to fry your tires all day?" Well I wasnt supposed to be there anyway since it was for 73' and later, or vette's or Harley bikes. Nothin' new more old stuff. I think they are trying to keep it ricer free. Funny thing is the week before they had Mustangs unlimited car club there and 70% of those guys ran Cobras or Saleens. But they were in the paddock and otherwise it woulda only been about 6 stangs'.

I also believe the shackle drop or suspension drop
in the rear plays a major part.

I too am amazed that I can leave from an idle, put my foot straight to to the floor and cut a 1.6 60 ft on Hoosiers
and a 1.8 on F-1's.

I love the way mine launches
EXCEPT IN THE GOT DAM COLD WEATHER
when I can't touch the pedal

Shackles are good for a couple degrees of negative pinion angle

My '03 hooks like mad with the F1s. I attribute it to the beefy spring stack hence less wrap-up upon hard acceleration.
