NEED HELP (leaky I/C cause bad catalytic convertor?)

well I noticed the inside of my exhaust is covered in carbon buildup.
I talked to my mechanic (H/D guy) and he said that the Leaking intercooler that he replaced could have made the catalytic convertor go bad and the convertor is not doing it's job.

Also he said that the I/C fluid out the exhaust could have ruined the O2 sensors.

My IC was leaking but not that bad, I didn't even go through a whole IC reserviour of fluid before having it replaced.

Could the leaking IC fluid cause the Cat to go bad? O2 sensor?

What is a decent Cat to replace it with?
I don't want to leave it off because I am afraid it will be WAY too loud.

Anyone have aftermarket cats on thiers? if so, what is your opinion?

Right now I have a MAC catback on it and everything else (exhaust manifolds etc..) are stock.

HELP?

also where is agood place to buy aftermarket cats?

Very possible.probable for antifreeze to foul your cats and O2's. I have ran the Bassani high flow cats with stock exhaust and they are very loud. I currently run Magnaflow high flow cats with long tube headers and the sound is great. Quiet on the highway no droaning. Loud when you have your foot in it. Bassani is a bolt-on the Magnaflow is not unless you buy a complete system headers on back.

how loud do the stock ones sound hollowed out?

Is there an O2 sensor after the catalytic convertors?
Or will hollowing them out not effect the O2 sensors.
