Smile Pro Mod Lightning Truck

You probably won't beleive this but, Just begining work on a lightning truck useing a full pro-mod style frame and GTB 100 turbocharged engine similar to those used in Pro 5.0 mustang race cars, when done this truck should be capable of high 6 second passes at over 200 mph. If your interested I'll start posting pics as it progresses, Please understand though it is a big job and it won't happen overnight as I can only work on it after hours and week-ends. If you want more details just ask.
Regards ,
Trevor

No, Motorsport S302 block, 360 c.i., EFI, Turbo, Etc. thought about doing a modular after seeing J R Grantelli's Pro 5.0 car but had already bought all the bits for this engine, probably easier to go with the existing tech than R & D ing a modular at that level.

Its a generation 2 body style and I have 03 head and tail lights ,grilles Etc. when I heard about the 04 trucks coming out I thought perhaps I should have held off and got the new panels but I don't think the 04 looks as good as trhe current trucks, that's just my opinion.

Ive been the Promodlightning since 1993 when I bought my 93 Lightning...was the fastest in Florida ,stroker, Vortech charged,(10.83@128) for a while until Jason Brown promodded his 95....I then built a 7 second Promod mustang which I just recently sold after I spent over 60000 in building, so you see this name runs deep in my history, so what do you say can this old man be the Promod.....

Sounds like an awesome project, but why would you start with a Lightning when you are basically building a race truck from scratch. It just seems a shame to tear up a beautiful truck that is a limited production, when you can find F150 bodies a lot more plentiful and cheaper.

Any way, good luck on your project and definitely post pictures along the way.

MAXTORQUE2,
Better clarify this before you have me commited to a mental hospital, and rightfully so, I started out with a regular cab gutted right out, all the other panels are lightweight pieces and I,ve just bought all the headlights, tails, grilles, badges and exterior trim Etc. so it is a replicar. I would cry cutting up the real thing, I'll post some pics over the weekend.
Regards,
Trevor

Not start a flaming war or anything,.....but the Gen.2's aren't really limited production! The Gen.1's, now are a different story! In the 3-year run (93-95) they built 11,563 of them. Ford built more 99's than that!!

Also,.......IF you don't start off with a "Lightning", you don't have a Promod Lightning,.....you have a F-150!
