Arm or spray the nitrous. you can arm it at any rpm. all arming does is arm the system. it will not spray till you want it too. there are a few ways of doing this. a hand held push buttom, rpm activated switch or a wot switch. which do you have?? i would not spray nitrous untill you have reached 3000rpms or more. it is safer and easier on the engine. under 3000rpms and the distribution of the N2O is not all that great.

I "arm" it right after my burnout. Get slicks and a traction device of some sort and "shoot" right fron the get go.

BTW Be ready for a helmet bang off the seat your first time. It caught me by surprise!

Have fun,
Eric

There's also FULL THROTTLE SWITCH, when your foot is to the floor its spraying!!! Don't forget the chip switch as well!!

i think a WOT swtich works best for these trucks. You arm it and as soon as your foot goes to the floor it sprays. That the only time you need it anyways.

What kit are you using SmokinSVT ?
I personally don't like Micro Switches mounted on the Pedal or T/B,
but if you use a kit that needs a switch it's that or a push button.
I preferred the push buttons when I had Rachet Shifters on the Floor and I could buy the handle with the button preinstalled, this way if it started going wild at WOT, you can still stayed floored and just let off the button a sec. With the Micro switch figured for WOT on the Carb or T/B, once I floored it and it got crazy loose, I would have to get totally off it and watch the competition drive away, with the button you could arm it milli seconds after launching, while launching, off and on, etc...

Those of us with the Zex kits don't have that prob because it triggers via a voltage signal it gets from the TPS and works PERFECT each and every time. That was the reason I got it.
BTW
YOU ONLY WANNA JUICE IT AT WOT
!!!NEVER BEFORE WOT!!!

Good Luck

Rob,
Maybe I dont quite understand the point your making here but...
Your TPS trigger(electronic) acheives the same end result and as the micro switch (mechanical) , they just trigger via different methods. They both turn the flow of nitrous (and fuel on wet kits) on at WOT and off when not. If you get hairy you have only 2 choices to stop nitrous flow with either kit, lift off the throttle or turn the main power switch off. The button deal is not the way to run consistant times, but definately has it's merit in certain situations.

If you haven't opened the motor with any mods, stick with 75. 100 is pushing the limits with no internal work done.

Your 100% correct Eric, TPS + Micro once floored do the exact same thing, and I don't think a 75 Shot would warrent using a button. But my personal experiences have found times where it needs to be used in other situations.

But I think with the Zex Kit and their TPS arming method, that "too much at once problem" is not a problem due to the control box. Here's a little info on it.
AND I QUOTE http://www.atlanticspeed.com/

The ZEX "Wet" Nitrous System has the most advanced features of any "Wet" nitrous system on the market. All components, such as the solenoids and activation electronics, are factory pre-assembled inside the "Nitrous Management Unit". This ensures you will be spending less time in the garage installing the system and more time out having fun. The patent pending "Fuel Shear" technology used in ZEX's nitrous nozzle places the enrichment fuel directly inside the high-speed nitrous plume exiting the nozzle. This results in the most complete atomization of enrichment fuel possible. Super-fine atomization of enrichment fuel ensures maximum horsepower and eliminates fuel puddling that can cause intake backfires. Even the way ZEX activates the nitrous system is unique. Instead of relying on crude micro-switches or push buttons, the ZEX "wet" nitrous system uses advanced electronics to "learn' the throttle position sensors voltage curve. It then programs itself for your specific vehicle and, when armed, will only activate the nitrous system at wide-open throttle. This ensures perfect engagement every time the nitrous system is used. Advanced features like this make the ZEX "wet" nitrous system the easiest to install, the most powerful, and the most reliable system on the market.

Rob,
I agree the Zex is a nice simple install and from what I've seen they work real well. I got the NX wet system in mine and we took quite a bit of time installing it. I am very happy with it. I cant' run the 100 or 75 shot without being "booted" since I don't have a cage. The only time I ran the 100 shot I went 11.7 @ 115 with 4lb lower. Traction even with the 28X10.5 MT drags wasn't optimal.

s.cal L,
With the 5 lb. lower I would run the 50 or 75 shot with the proper tune. 100 is doable but who knows for how long?
12.0's with the 75 shot are possable with good traction for sure.

Spray cool guys,
Eric
