Smile 317.4 miles on 18.18 gals. = 17.46mpg.

50,500 miles on her. Driving 160 miles round trip 21 days a month now.

Believe it or not, I'm not even in fear of a breakdown.

I'm not even trying to set fuel economy records either.

I also got stopped last night for speeding. eek!!!! Got lucky and got a written warning. Now I really get to be careful, and pay closer attention. I'd hate to ruin my squeaky clean CDL. :-)

Just thought I'd brag about fuel mileage and dependability of this L.

Now I just need Dons HP. & TQ. LOL

Now thats amazing Red

I got 9-11 MPG everytime I checked when it was "Stock"
Now I don't check it anymore, BUT I KNOW IT'S WAY LESS
I just figure $10.00 a day to drive it to and from work.
It is 90% back roads and only one exit (10%) a day on the pkwy.

Oh Ya, I live @ 3-5 miles from work
but I do come home for lunch and also make a 5-10 minute drive twice a day to drop off and pick up my Son
It equates out to @ 29-39 Miles a day and every two days I put $20.00 in

WELL WORTH IT at any cost

Way to go! With my setup, the best I EVER got was 16.5, and that was on a 370 mile highway trip. Never mind the speed limit is 75 in these parts and I was going 80 to 90 the whole trip. It was too much fun to slow down, and really, I didn't buy it for gas mileage. My intown mileage is 11 to 12.

Hey if you do all highway driving you might think about getting a chip with an economy progam. I've got a two program chip which one is an economy program and I can get over 23 mpg at 77mph with the cruise control on. I have an 8# pulley with a chip programed for a 6# pulley, but I live and drive at 2200' - 2500' elevation. Just a thought.

Promod> Great mpg for all modded up!!!!!

Rob02> Great track numbers!!!! at your mpg., I know you have way too much fun driving your hot-rod L. Your truck looks sweet and I know how much work it is to keep black looking good!

cal50> Thanks for the info. Great mpg.!!!! I have always lived at high altitudes, and wondered what could be done with a chip when you're always traveling from sea level, and back to 5000'+.

Please e-mail me more info. on your truck (year, any other mods, and about your chip, like who dunnit?) Thanks ;-) I can be reached at yenko_ys100@yahoo.com

I'm not posting much now with the work situation. I'm trying to catch up on some sleep. Been working 12-14 hour days (driving haz-mat hauling sulfuric acid),and driving to and from work another 3 hours total.

Thanks All !!!! I'm feeling like its mod time. (evil heeheehee)

I could do that in my truck (if I started at Everest base camp and finished at the Bay of Bengal). But I did average 49.8 mpg on a trip to San Francisco and back last year, with a passenger, too. Of course it was in my VW, which, in its own way, performs its function as well as the Lightning does its. I feel very fortunate that I do not have to subject the Lightning to the wear and tear (and collision risks) of daily driving but can take it to the track and drive the hell out of it without risking a ticket.

01arrestmered,

Talk to PSP about a chip. As a truck driver you should know that the more torque you have the better fuel economy you'll get. And I have a 2002 with a hard bed cover and extra weight and have done a 12.9 with F-1's at 90* at 1100' elevation hot lapping.
