I want a superchips micro tuner now!!

hey all, with my airraid and bassani catback setup, which I wont be doing any more mods until next year ( yea right ) I like to get a superchips micro tuner for my lightning asap.

Does anyone know of any dealers in the boston area ( im 30 miles west of boston ) where I could just drive and pick one up?

Thx
-Keith

Kieth, I don't know of anyone around here. BUT if you call JDM they can send you one right out, and probably even over night it if your in a huge hurry. I don't know much about them, but not many people use the micro tuner...you might want to wait till the preditor comes out, or just get a chip. Have you checked out the New England Lightning Owners section on NLOC? Bunch of good guys around here!

(Just look out for that Don's Bolt guy...I hear he's all show and no go, with his purdy new paint job!!! )

I agree one of the Local new england guys tried one on his 2003 lightning. It doesn't work well on our trucks, Jim and the crew from JDM will be at New England Dragway the weekend of August 16th for Fun Ford Weekend. I would sugest that you wait till then, and get a chip for your truck.

If you don't want to put a chip, you might want to look into getting a reflashed computer for your truck.

Thx for the info, from searching on this site, the micro tuner does is what im looking for.

Fixing the stock shifts
Adjusting for the airraid and bassani
other minor adjustments

im a wuss and dont want to go to crazy with mods this year ( no money to fix broken things )

which for now are the only HP mods ill be making and I like the idea of not having to touch/clean the contacts on the computer to install the chip ( dealer issues here ) I see the plus side of the preditor but until I can buy one then I want another option for the time being

so what your saying is there is a difference between the microtuner and a reflashed computer, i thought thats what the microtuner does or is it that the program on the microtuner is just crappy so a re-flash or a chip would be a better bang for the buck

do you mean I can buy a new computer with a program that will do the same as the microtuner, but better and safer? and still be able to pop in the original computer if I need to bring it back to the dealer, how much would that cost

I trust you guys so put me on the right path

lol don, I just realized your in Waltham, I work in Lexington....

thx
-Keith

ok, after alot more searching and reading and I can live with a chip, seems like the best direction for me to go in. I am out of warranty and I don't have any major mods going on ( just talking myself into it )

thx again and im going to try to move some plans around for that weekend, id love to see some L's run up there. DON, are you going to be running your truck?

Ill contact JDM ( I hit their website and really like what the stage 1 kit gives you )

So my last question is, Would it be best to order something like their stage one kit and go to JDM to have it installed or purchase it and have someone closer that someone could recommend install it?

thx
-Keith

Ya

Vinnie, HD, and Myself will be running that weekend along with a bunch of other fast trucks.

If you want a chip Jim will have plenty of them with him, but it would be a good idea to call him and make sure they bring one just for you. You can then talk to him and he can tune a chip to do exactlly what you want. They can then install it for you.

What time saturday do you think would be good to see you guys run or do you think sunday would be better? Ill have my video gear so ill get some good video for all of ya.

Good luck with JDM. I can't even get my reburned chip back from them and it's been over a month. And I know what I'll see.

Ogie- Please email Anthony and we will take care of this
-Jim.

Bull-emailed over 10 times...same or no response.

Ogie-Jim's workin on it.

thx all,
-Keith
