60 foot times

I went to the track last week and just wanted to compare with everyone.

My 60 times were 2.0s all night, 2.002(best) and 2.055(worst)

I have JLP traction bars and QA1 shocks, runing 14.5 wide Hoosier QTPs on a 10 inch rim.

My engine mods are C&L 85mm MAF, Accufag TB, and Superchip.

The climate was 83F and 89% humidity.

The truck was hooking great, I did not have to let off the gas for traction throughout my runs.

Should I expect better from my L or is this the best for my engine mod set-up?

I personally believe they should have been a little better.
Somewhere in the high 1.9's. But then again that is just my
opinion.

My best before the 2400 stall converter with slicks was a 1.8x.
After the converter it is a 1.69 so far.

I believe you should be doing better....BUT holly humidity batman!!! THat may have been hurting you! I have done 1.90's on F1's with simple home made traction devices. Maybe practice, and track prep will help you out. Oh, and cool weather!

I guess the converter is really worth its money, but there are such a price difference out there.

I also run 3.55s and am consistent with low 1.60 foot times on my 28 x 10 x 16 Hoosiers.

What tire pressure are you running? With 2.0x 60 foot times you must be spinning bad.

I run 15.5 lbs in my tires and come off the line hard.

I come off the line as hard as I can also, both punching it from brake and power breaking it. Both ways, it's floored, which I wasn't able to do before the slicks. I might not have the eng mods like you do though.

Hoosier said between 14-17 psi. I was at 16 with tires hot. Again, no spin at all.

I probably have a couple more mods than you do...

What do you set your QA1s to? Mine are set to 4 on left side and 5 on right side, don't ask it just seems to work for me. I power brake any where from 1700 to 2000 RPM as per the stock tac.

Are you heating your tire good? How new are your tires?

I run with my tail gate, spare and hitch removed. I do leave my A.R.E cover and passenger seat in /on. Truck with me in it weighs 4964 lbs.

Even prior to my built engine my 60 foot times were mid to high 1.60s.

I got my new engine almost broke in and running very low 12s with a real rich tune at present time.

A TQ convertor is something you DO NOT want to skimp on. They are expensive for a reason. The cheapo $200 dollar convertors are trash. If you can't afford to do it right then stay stock.

What are you revving your truck to while you are staged?

Try about 900-1100. That usually works best for me. Then floor that sucker.

Thanks for the advice on Torque converters!! My QA1s are set at 6 clicks on both sides. I totally understand the 4 and 5 settings on different sides. Hence the reason our slicks gets worn unevenly! I believe the passenger side gets worn out faster. My slick are very well seasoned, they're actually on their last few runs, regardless, I do not have traction problems. BTW, can slicks be swapped from side to side?

I launched at about 1000-1100 rpms aswell.

Thanks for the responses guys!
