Yea this website was a nice break from work. My favorite is the responses from the owners, they are priceless.

Working in Boston I see a butt load of these cars, I may start writing some violations. The best one I’ve seen here in Boston was a completely riced-out late model ford probe with a huge wing and ground effects. It was bright sky blue and all beat up.

I actually enjoy seeing riced-out cars on the road, they are always a good for a laugh when commuting.

Okay, I realize this a probably a stupid question, but I'm definately not up on my imports. What does "Type R" really mean, and where did it originate?

We have some extreme ricers around here. Mid-80 Sentras with double-deck wings, 4 inch exhaust tips, chrome wheel covers, etc. There's even a 198x Honda Accord rolling around here with 2 black strips of duct tape as "racing stripes"

Sometimes I think the people are doing it just as a joke...

It's a shame people assume all imports = rice. Then by transitive properties, they assume all imports = slow. I've raced some fast imports and have respect for a tastefully done up WRX or EVO just as much as I do for a modded Mustang or Camaro.

There was a relativiely limited edition Integra that was a Type R. Then those badges made it on overything remotely japanese. The jap's like to call things "Type _".

Integra Type R
NSX Type S
CL Type S

and so on..

The Integra Type R is a great handling car, and has a pretty peppy engine. IMO, it is worthy of its name (whatever that means). A quick little car that can run circles around a Mustang GT in the turns.

actualy there was only a limited amount made for the U.S. Over seas there all over the damn place. But you are correct about the 'type' being on all hondas.

Myself, still a import tuner cant stand rice... I build hondas on the weekend for autocross, drag, etc... Even tho there not the fast cars around they are still pretty damn quick for a 4 banger...

But they will only be quick, not fast like a 8 cylinder etc
