Have an '03 L that has approx 4200 miles on it. Got it in May.
Anyway, has had a drivers door rattle that has been annoying the heck out of me. Rattled only when window up and on a fairly bumpy road. Anyway, 2 visits to the Ford dealership, 2 techs and still the rattle persisted. Today, FINALLY the 3rd visit to the dealer and the 3rd tech found the source of the rattle and fixed it. YES!! For those that might read this note and have a similar problem, it was a missing clip on a cable way up at the top of the inner door that was missing and allowing the cable to strike the sheet metal. I believe it was the wiring harness going to the rear view mirror. Funny, the rattle sounded like it was down lower and near the door actuator but no it was not. Tech placed a couple of clips on the offending cable way up there and the problem is history. Geeeeez, I am happy! Oh, yes, I did slip the tech a few bucks, called the Service Manager and praised the tech, etc...

made this sound from the drivers side door, especially when turning uphill on a somewhat bumby road...
