I was heading home from work. I noticed a vette behind me, and thought...well..probably some old guy, no race. It was two younger guys and they got beside me in the other lane after the light turned green. Armed the juice and purged. They wanted some . Stoped at the next light and lined up. The light turned green and I got a little too aggressive with the foot. He got about a car on me and i was spinning and let up and gained from there, and passed, then we hit traffic. The passenger was trying to tell me something. Thought he wanted me to follow them, but I guess they wanted to get me in the other lane at the light. I missed it so got in behind them before it turned green. Light turn greened and weeded out some traffic and lined it up about 40 mph. He started to honk three times. Put it to the floor between the second and third honk (time for the auto to shift) and walked him hard to about 5 car lengths and shut it down. First race with the juice and I was pretty pleased . Finally got a race after a long time. The driver didn't look happy after getting beat by a brick. Atleast he waved, or made some hand gesture with his hand?

Thanx!heh. don't feel bad. i took a different route from work than usual. it was probably luck. I went through a 03' cobra,zo6, and 2 ws6's before i finally ran into those guys. none of them wanted to race .

I raced a yellow Z06 after changing my plugs yesterday. I had a miss and needed some new plugs. I figured I'd take the truck to meet a friend to look at an LX 5.0 coupe he wanted to add to his corral. It will look great next to his 03 KB Cobra. Right before I left his house to go home, I turned my boost down from 24 to about 20 so I could safely run some 93 octane.

Anyway, raced from a 40-50mph roll. He took off by about a half a car lenght before my truck dropped into 2nd. I spun badly and eased up to get some traction. As soon as the tires grabbed I started pulling on him. By the time I shifted to 3rd I had about 2 trucks on him. I kept pulling steadily. I let off early not too go too fast. He gave me a thumbs up as I dropped back to the speed limit and he crusied on.

If I had dumped the kind of $$$ I have in the Lightning into a C5, I bet I could be in the low 11s.

One day I'll get a Vette though...I've always liked them. And the new C6 kicks serious a$$!!

I lined up a couple of times with a totally stock '98 C5 at my local track. He was running 14.0s @ 100 to my 13.6s @ 103. And that was before I installed my 4#er! He was a beginner so maybe he just needs to practice his launch.
