Tim, couldn't find a picture of the MAC pan on your site? Is it the same one as the Ford Racing (same design, different stamping?). If so, I'm glad to see it holds 4 qts. extra fluid!

Thanks, and thanks in advance!

After thinking it over I have decided to defer to your superior wisdom, Tim. Not going to do anything until I get your pod in and establish some baseline figures. Then, if I find that I need additional cooling, Mike's unit sounds like it might be just the ticket.

Thanks for your post.

Our Troyer Performance Active Transmission Cooler Kit is of course more expensive than passive coolers, none of which have our unit's features, of course. It's 2 different classes of product, basically.

Ours is a beautiful stacked-plate unit with thermostatically controlled fan & mounting brackets already assembled, uses -6 AN fittings (we also include standard barbed fittings), and includes all the fittings, additional hose, docs, etc. as you kindly pointed out in your post (thank you). . . . In short, it's for when you want the best in a highly efficient, small, light & remote-mountable package.
As you seem to have recognized, Mike, I didn't mean to imply that the Troyer kit was a ripoff, just that it may be overkill. The Troyer unit is a Derale plate-and-fin:

Part No. 13750 -6AN / 3/8" barb inlets
Part No. 15850 -8AN / 1/2" barb inlets

$150 at Summit Racing. Add in $50 for the fiittings and thermostat (and instructions), and the price is very reasonable for the value received. In fact, the price is probably lower than the cost of raw parts assembled yourself (the thermostat is a $23 or $40 piece alone, depending upon which tstat is included).

I may buy one for an oil cooler. I had to route the dual oil filters to back to the frame under the driver's side door. May be too much hassle to run the lines back up to the front for a cooler.

Mac pan added now. It looks to be about the same as the B&M.

If I had to do it all over again, I would go with the Moroso. Highest fluid capacity short of the Mag-Hytec, no exposed drain plug, Moroso quality.

Several ways to do it. The easiest way is to cut the hard line at the stock auxillary cooler. A good place is at the flex connection near the stock aux cooler. You will need a small pipe cutter. Deburr and clean the cut ends. Slip enough flex hose on to get two hose clamps on each connection.

You can also get a tubing flarer and add fittings to the end of the cut lines.

Finally, you can get the right fittings to hook up directly to the stock aux filter. This is probably the "best" way to do it.
