I have done a search, but can not come up with anything. I remember a while back reading on here about some people in other countries buying cars off of ebay or other places on the net, and when it somes time to send the money the buyer does so with credit card or some other form of payment but once the buyer gets the goods it turns out to be a fake. (something about over paying and needing the over pay back) I know this sounds kind of vague and doesnt even belong on the L forum but I am selling a laptop on ebay and have had several people from Indonesia email me and want to buy it. Something about this seems a little odd!!! I just dont want to get screwed. Maybe someone will come across this before it gets deleted and remind me of what this scam was.

I had a hit on my classified from a supposedly interested buyer in Africa. He wanted to buy my truck sight unseen and send me a cashiers check by private courier for several thousand dollars more than my asking price.
Once I cashed the check, the courier was to take the excess and hand deliver it and the truck to an unnamed "shipper" somewhere on the coast. Of course the excess $$$ were to pay the shipper.
I was born at night, but it wasn't last night !!!
