03 White L Finally.
03 White L Finally.
Background. I had a 00 Black L, extremely low mileage which got totalled a few months ago. I picked up a 02 HD Screw as a replacement and installed a Diablo Chip, ASP 8lb pulley, Mac cold air, and did some rear end work. I was happy with the perforance gains, but the truck was just not what I wanted to drive. My wife works for ford so I got a 03 White L on the D plan for 28k two nights ago. Pulled my pulley, cold air and chip out of the HD yesterday afternoon. So far I only have the cold air on the new L. Still haven't got over a hundred miles yet, but I'm ready to install the pulley. I think the 8lb might be too much for a daily driver though. Is anyone else running an 8lb on a daily driven L, and did anyone else have as much trouble as I did keeping tranny cooling lines from rubbing the pulley? I wire tied the lines on the HD several times trying to keep them a safe distance away from disaster. Thanks.
I have had an 8# lower on for about 8 months now and have put about 7000 miles on my L w/ it.
Have made many 1/4 mile passes (a lot of 11 second passes) and have driven long distances (Indiana (650 miles each way) , Virginia (350 miles each way) and just got back from Ohio (500 miles each way).
So far so good. I do take a lot of precautions (change oil a lot and run high (94 street and 100 strip) octane fuel and watch the kickdowns.
But I must say I am surprised because I have done a lot of hard driving lately (burnouts, kickdowns and stuff ). Knowing I am getting a built motor soon has gotten me to be more daring.
I still do not recommend the 8# , but it has worked for me.
Hope this helps

I just got my L a few weeks ago. I've been looking to meet up with some other L owners around here in Charleston. They are having a NLOC meeting in Columbia this weekend if your interested in going let me know.
Did you get your White L from Jones Ford. You got a killer price, They did mine on X-Plan for 29,600.

Sharp. I did get the white one that has been sitting under the west side awning for a few weeks at Jones. My ex works there and we are still good friends. She hooked me up with the d plan. I would love to hook up some time. What are you planning to do in Columbia and when are you planning to go? Hit me back at rainman_152003@yahoo.com and I will try to respond when I get back in the office tomorrow.
I still have deep concerns about using this 8lb pulley. I just don't feel comfortable running 16psi on a daily driver.

See you have a white L also. I got the one just like yours they brought in a day or so after you bought yours. Willie showed me your truck before I bought the HD about two months ago, but I bought the HD from Miller Caddy in Mt P cause my Old Lady wasn't working at Jones yet. Willie sold me the L though. If you are who I think you are you park down by Willie's 03 Cobra during the work day right?
Mike, Yea I saw your truck. For a while they had 2 black ones and two HD's right next to them. Talked to my Girl last night and we are planning to run to Columbia to the meeting Sunday. I also talked to the guy in the white one around the corner. He is a bit older and not interested in that type of thing, though he did point out his 03 L will lay the smack down on the C5 he traded in for it. I can't run up there with you guys cause I got a thing on the way I need to do, but I will be there. Hope to see you too Matt.
