I had 3 people total in the truck on the highway and on local streets and when i went over sharp bumps it sounded like something was smacking the frame. Sounded sort of like if your spare tire was loose but it was coming from the front and you could feel it in the floorboards. I took a look under the truck and saw that there is only about 1/2inch between the front bumpstops and the lower control arm. Is this normal? I think maybe it was just bottoming out. If you can put 1000+ pounds in the bed then i dont think 3 ppl should make it bottom out.

I've never had any problems. The most weight I've had in the cab at one time was probably the Big Show.... and I think he's at least 3 bucks...

 

Mine was doing that the first night I picked it up. I took it in and the service manager went for a ride with me. I left it and they
"re-torqued the front and rear suspension components". I picked it up and guess what? It still does it. I just haven't had time to take it back yet. The bump or rattle or maybe a little troll is up under the bed with a rubber hammer, happens when the truck shifts under accelleration or sometimes just going over a bump just right. It's so annoying. Sound like the tail pipe is whacking the bottom of the bed. Seems to have something to do with the axle travel. Anyone else have this problem and what was done to eliminate it?

Thats pretty hard to beleive. I've had me (215) and 4 girls (100 - 120) in the cab with me and I never had any problems at all and thats with a bell tech 3/4 drop kit.

Something must be up with that.

 

my 99 had an issue with muffler hitting the bottom of the cab-area. only seemed to happen when loaded down or going over bumps. In my case I was able to bend the hangers a bit & problem went away

 

5 chicks in a regular cab while driving?

 

Only TWO had their heads above the seats though .....

yeah sometimes its a good night at the clubs and you bring home more then you can handle, but its worth it. :

I've had my R1 in the bed, plus Me (240), Girlfriend (110), and another friend (175) and no bottoming out.

 

No they were some buddys of mine(guys). My gf doesnt want to rid in it yet for some reason..something about how i drive faster now
